Via DobroGetica
Steps Through History!
Five cultural routes across Dobrogea. 150 Roman milestones. A project that refuses to be fleeting.

The Festival of Flower Clocks
Unveiling of the Sundial and the Via DobroGetica Milestone · Cumpăna
On 22 May 2026, Via DobroGetica, in partnership with Cumpăna Town Hall and Mobexpert Constanța, unveils the Sundial and installs the second Via DobroGetica milestone in the park in front of the House of Culture. The event includes the first edition of the Festival of Flower Clocks — 12 floral sundials made by children from 12 schools in Constanța County — and a Spring Fair with local produce.
The 5 Routes
Each route is a distinct story of Dobrogea — from Roman fortresses to wines and spirituality.
Eco-History
A route blending Dobrogea's wild nature with Roman remains. From the Constanța casino, you follow the trail of the Roman legions through forgotten fortresses, all the way to the geological spectacle of the Dobrogea Gorges.
Gastronomy & Archaeology
From the wines of the Dobrogean cellars to the ancient monuments on the shore of the Black Sea, the red route combines gastronomic pleasures with exceptional archaeological discoveries. Histria Fortress, the oldest on Romanian soil, will leave you speechless.
Spirituality
Dobrogea is where Christianity first took root on Romanian soil. The orange route leads you through Ottoman mosques, churches carved into rock, the cave of the Holy Apostle Andrew, and Trajan's triumphal monument.
Danube & Memory
Following the Danube–Black Sea Canal and the great Roman fortresses on the Danube bank, the blue route also touches the tragic sites of recent memory — the Political Prisoners' Memorial at Poarta Albă. History in a double layer: Roman and communist.
Royalty & Coast
From Constanța southward, following the Black Sea coast as far as Bulgaria, the yellow route takes you on the trail of Queen Marie at Balchik, onto the dramatic headland of Cape Caliacra, and through resorts with interwar charm.

Via DobroGetica marks Dobrogea with 150 modern Roman milestones. Each milestone can bear your name.

A Project Built to Last
“We reject fleeting festivities; we choose to build something that endures.”
Via DobroGetica is a cultural project of endurance, conceived for the horizon of 2025–2028, when Dobrogea celebrates 150 years since its reunification with Romania. Five routes, 150 reinstalled Roman milestones, a mobile app — and a community discovering that walking through history is the best way to understand it.

150 Roman Milestones
The Roman milestone was the stone marking each Roman mile (1,480 m) on the roads of the Empire. Via DobroGetica reinstalls 150 milestones along the routes, recreating the ancient rhythm of the journey. The first milestone was installed at the Ovidiu Roman Fort.

Project Context
Dobrogea — 150 Years
On 14 November 2028, Dobrogea marks 150 years since its reintegration into the Romanian state. Via DobroGetica rejects fleeting festivities and chooses to build something that lasts — 150 milestones, 5 routes, a community.
