The Story of the Project
“We reject fleeting festivities; we choose to build something that endures.”

Via DobroGetica was born from a simple conviction: Dobrogea deserves more than a week of festival and a few speeches. It deserves a project that, in 2028 — 150 years since its reunification with Romania — leaves something concrete behind.
The idea of the five cultural routes draws on a model familiar to anyone who has heard of Via Transilvanica: thematic roads, physically marked, with a clear map and a community around them. But Dobrogea is not Transylvania. It is a less celebrated, less understood region — and for that very reason, all the more fascinating.
The 150 Roman milestones we have set out to reinstall are not an exercise in nostalgia. They are a practice of orientation: in space, in time, in identity. The Roman milestone told the traveller: you are so many miles from Tomis. Ours says: you are on Via DobroGetica, you are in Dobrogea, you are in history.
The 150-for-150 Goal
Three concrete objectives for the Dobrogea 150 horizon
Cultural Routes
Green, Red, Orange, Blue, Yellow — each with its own personality, each covering a different face of Dobrogea.
Roman Milestones
150 milestones reinstalled along the routes by 14 November 2028, the anniversary of Dobrogea's reunification.
Mobile App
A digital guide launching in the summer of 2026, with an offline map and a directory of local partners.
What We Believe
Endurance
We are not organising an event. We are building cultural infrastructure for the generations to come.
Authenticity
Every site on the routes has a real, documented story — not just a tourist spot.
Community
The project lives through the people who walk the routes, install milestones and talk about Dobrogea.
Memory
150 Roman milestones are not stage props. They are material signs that we were here and that we remembered.
